Regular physical activity is now considered to be one of the most important things people of any age can do to improve their health. (Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, 2nd Edition)

  • To reap the benefits, it’s recommended to include–at least 150 minutes of moderate–intensity aerobic activity every week. This can be done with a 30 minute brisk walk, 5 days a week.
  • Older adults are also encouraged to add at least 2 days a week of muscle-strengthening—-which has been proven to help improve balance thus decreasing the risk of a devastating fall.
