The class is done in a chair and/or standing. It’s designed to be a slower pace, giving you time to focus on movement and breathing.
For those just starting or recovering from a surgery or injury, it helps you rediscover your muscles so you can safely regain lost muscle strength and flexibility. For those who already exercise, it’s perfect for relieving exercise-induced inflammation, which can cause pain, stiffness, and fatigue.

The breathing component helps move stale air out of the lungs and teaches you how to use more diaphragm muscles. Stronger diaphragm muscles help to improve core strength and improve posture, which helps decrease fall risk, the leading cause of injuries in older adults. A better oxygen exchange throughout the body is also known to promote healing, a sense of well-being, and calm, which improves sleep quality.
Breathing more deeply also helps lower the stress hormone in the body called cortisol. Chronically elevated cortisol levels weaken the muscles and the immune system and contribute to the inflammation that leads to chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and coronary artery disease.
