Older Asian man sitting on the floor stretchingThis 30-minute stretch class will boost muscle strength by improving flexibility and reducing the muscle tightness that robs you of your strength.

Restoring flexibility has been proven to decrease joint pain and stiffness, increase energy levels, and decrease overall tension.

It’s the tight muscles that limit joint mobility and make it harder and more painful to move about your day. So to get the most out of your exercise programs or keep up with your everyday activities, it’s important to have joints that move more freely.

“Nothing helps decrease pain like gently lengthening your muscles.”

Each class includes a variety of the most common stretch styles:

  • Static – holding stretched muscles in place for a duration of time
  • Dynamic – moving and lengthening a muscle through a full range of motion to stretch
  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is a stretch-contract-relax sequence

Stretching exercises are done on the floor, standing, or in a chair. It is recommended that you have a yoga mat, or a carpeted floor, and a sturdy chair. If you can’t get on the floor, modifications are given.

Live Class:  Wed 12:30-1:00 pm Pacific Time (3:30 pm ET)
