Get Started with Restart Smart.

It’s the best first step when you:

  • Don’t know where to begin with your fitness
  • Want to get back to fitness without the fear of getting injured
  • Would like to improve your strength, balance, posture, and/or flexibility
  • Are looking for a way to decrease your pain and stiffness
  • Haven’t been exercising for more than a year
  • Have never done any strength training
  • Are recovering from an illness, or a surgery and it’s time to rehab
  • Just finished the Standing Strong program

Restart Smart uses resistance bands to improve strength and mobility.

  • Each class starts with a 4-6 minute warm-up.
  • The workout session includes 8-12 exercises for a full-body workout.
  • Each session finishes with a 10-minute cool-down.
  • All exercises are done either standing or sitting in a chair.
  • Expert cueing and exercise modifications are given.

Recommended Equipment: a sturdy chair, a set of TheraBands™ which we can provide, a 6 ft x 6 ft space to move, and a desire to get stronger with a great group of seniors just like yourself.

Restart Smart has a comfortable pace so that participants have time to learn the basics and the 7 essential moves. Using the resistance bands means everyone can apply the perfect amount of resistance for their abilities. Yet, in each class, no matter where you’re starting from, you’ll notice stronger muscles, better posture, and balance. Many of the participants even notice they have less pain and stiffness as they begin moving more regularly.
